In Kolkata, Durga Puja is celebrated as the biggest festival with a week long celebration. Every corner of the city is decorated with lights and there is merriment all around. Each and every Bengali girl awaits this occasion to deck up in traditional attire and there is a signature makeup for Durga Puja you would notice in every pandal. Today I am here to do a signature Bengali Durga Puja Look. Every Durga Puja look has one thing in common – the red bindi. No matter what traditional attire you're wearing or what makeup you will be applying, no Durga Puja look is complete without a red bindi. So, without much blabbering let us get into the details.

Products Used For Eyes:
  • ELF primer
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick – Bad girl Bronze
  • Bourjois Paris Intense Extrait Eyeshadow Shade 09
  • Golden pigment from Inglot
  • Lakme Eyeconic Kajal
  • Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Step By Step Procedure:

Apply primer on the eyelids so that the makeup remains intact for the whole day without fading and creasing.

Apply a layer of bronze eye pencil on the eyelids up to the crease. This is a step you shouldn't miss because it will help your eyeshadow adhere to the lids and gives a depth to the eye makeup.

Take a brown eyeshadow and apply along the crease with a wiper motion. Blend this color up to the crease to soften it.

Take a matte white or beige eyeshadow and apply on the brow bone to highlight. As the look is slightly loud, try to use minimal shimmer on the brow bone except on the eyelids. Matte beige would look subtle with this look.

Take any shade of golden eyeshadow on the finger tips and apply on the center of the eyelids. This will give a festive touch to the look and is also subtle.

Apply a thick layer of kohl on both the water lids and eyelids. Bengali looks are incomplete without kajal and, therefore, do not forget this step.

Curl your lashes and apply 2-3 coats of mascara to complete the look.

Products Used For Lips:
  • Miss Claire Glimmerstick for Lips in Orange
  • Street Wear Lipstick – Very Vampire

Step By Step Procedure:

I have applied lipliner all over the lips as a base and also because I wanted an orange undertone to my red lipstick.

Next I have applied the red lipstick.

With a fluffy brush, I have applied a layer of powder to mattify the color. Matte is my personal choice, but you can also apply the glossy layer too.

Products Used For Face:
  • Lakme CC Cream
  • Lakme Rose Powder

Step By Step Procedure:

I have kept the face entirely minimal as I avoid a heavy layer of foundation during summer and humid weather. I have simply applied a CC cream to add a subtle glow and set it with a layer of face powder to control the oil.

Last but not least, I have finished the look with a red bindi. This is my look for Durga Puja.

Do let me know how you liked it.
