1. Lemon & Honey Mix
Lemon is enriched in citric acid and, therefore, has excellent bleaching properties which are well known to everyone out there. It works excellently on lips as well. Honey, which has natural moisturizers, anti-aging formulas, anti-oxidants, nutrients, natural healing and enzymes helps in getting rid of the discoloration. Pure honey is more active and contains more phytonutrients which work best on the lips. Both the ingredients are easily available and extremely helpful for dark lips. Make a mixture of lemon and honey in a 1:1 ratio. You can increase the amount of honey if your lips are too sensitive to lemon. Apply this on the lips for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water. For a quick solution, you can apply the lemon slices and slather for 5-10 minutes regularly.
2. Sugar Exfoliation
This is the most common and easy homemade scrub that will not only exfoliate the dead cells but also helps you in treating the dark lips. Sugar has glycolic acid which helps remove dead skin and it does not clog pores. It also helps in eliminating blemishes and works great for discolored lips. Sugar is generally mixed with lemon, honey or petroleum jelly and used as an effective scrub for the lips.

Beetroot has a natural pink color which enhances the lips and helps you in achieving that perfect rosy pout for the day. The method of using beetroot is extremely easy. Take a slice of the beetroot and refrigerate for an hour. Now slather the slice on the lips for about half an hour. You would notice a tinted pink layer on top of the lips. Let it stay for an hour or so and wash it off followed by your favorite lip balm.
4. Olive Oil & Almond Oil
These are two magic elixirs which will transform your darkened lips to pink pouts with regular usage. Make sure to massage your lips twice a day for 15-20 minutes with either of these oils. Potatoes can also remove dead skin cells. Refrigerate a medium slice of potato and use a blender to squeeze out the juice. Apply the juice with the help of a cotton bud and let it get completely dry. This beautiful flower is endowed with certain elements that help you in getting back that natural rosy lips. Take some rose petals and wash them thoroughly and immerse them in cold milk for an hour. Then make a paste of the petals and add few drops of olive/almond oil and glycerin. Take this paste and apply on the lips for half an hour. Dip a cotton ball in cold milk and wipe off the paste from your lips. Follow it with a lip balm. In few weeks, you would see the amazing results.

8. Homemade Lip Balm
Though there are varieties of lip balms available in the market, nothing can be safer than herbal or homemade products. Often, the various chemicals do more harm than a cure to our lips. Melt beeswax, shea butter/cocoa butter, and honey together in a double boiler and pour into a small tub. Let it set in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Your chemical free lip balm is ready!
