Today I am here with a DIY recipe that is super easy to prepare and gives amazing results. Belonging from Indian household, most of us must have heard about ubtan. Ubtan is basically a homemade paste made by combining different types of herbs and powders. Ubtan has been used since ancient times in India for providing the bride to be with bright and glowing skin on her wedding day. In Indian marriages, brides are smeared with ubtan for almost a month before their wedding. Every household has its own recipe for the ubtan. No matter what body wash or soap we use, they contain some amount of chemical. Using ubtan once in a while provides relief to the body from these chemicals and nourishes the skin. I have even removed the Holi colors with ubtan in just a single day. Read ahead to know about ubtan preparation.

Ingredients Used & Their Benefits:

Gram Flour / Besan - Gram flour, commonly known as besan is something that is found in every Indian kitchen. It is not only used in making yummy pakoras but can also be used to treat a number of skin ailments. Gram flour helps in absorbing excess oil thereby fighting acne. It's highly used in removing sun tan along with tomato juice.

Turmeric Powder - Turmeric is a spice readily available in Indian kitchen and widely available in Asia. Turmeric is rich in anti-oxidants which help in fighting free radicals and preventing pre-mature aging. It has anti-bacterial properties and can be useful in healing blemishes caused by acne.

Milk Powder - Milk powder nourishes the skin and makes it soft and radiant. It is also used for lightening the skin by removing stains and tan. If you don't have a cream cleanser, just use milk powder with water and you are good to go.

Procedure:

Take about 2 tablespoons of gram flour, 1 tablespoon of milk powder and one-fourth teaspoon of turmeric powder in a bowl.

Mix everything using water to make a thick paste.

Apply this paste on a clean and dry face and leave it on for 15 minutes.

After the pack has dried, wet your hands and massage you face in a circular motion using light hands. Wash it off with filtered water. After this, apply any moisturizer of your choice. This massage can even help in removing fine facial hair. Do this at least once or twice a week to notice wonderful results.

Note: Do not use turmeric in more amount as it tends to stain the skin. You can use milk or rose water instead of water for making the paste. You can even mix gram flour, milk powder, and turmeric and store it in an airtight container for future use. This ubtan can be used for the whole body as well.
