I have tried all the eye and nail products from the Elle 18 brand and I must say, for a budget friendly brand they deliver some really cool products. Today I am here to review the glow foundation from this brand. Nowadays illuminating foundations are quite in fashion and with strobing doing the rounds, it was an exciting thing to experiment with. Although it has limited shade selection, I think the one I have been sent in the haul suits me. So let's scroll down to know in detail what Elle 18 has to offer with the glow foundation.

About Elle 18 Glow Foundation Marble:

Sport a flawless, radiant face every day all day, with the new Elle18 Glow Foundation. Its SPF 8 protects, its moisturizer nourishes and its smooth texture ensures it easily blends into your skin. Available in 4 shades; you can be sure you'll find a shade that suits you.

Price:

150 INR for 30 g

Shelf Life:

24 months

Ingredients List:

Not mentioned.

Directions For Use:

Start by squeezing a small amount onto your fingers and apply to the face in a gentle patting motion. Blend with the help of your finger, kabuki brush or damp sponge.

My Experience With Elle 18 Glow Foundation Marble:

The packaging of the product resembles of a BB/CC Cream. It comes in a sleek long black tube with a screw cap. The packaging has quite a nice chic and girly touch to it. It can be easily traveled with no spillage or leakage problems. There is a faint smell of baby cream, but it is not going to hurt the sensitive nose at all.

The consistency of the foundation is of a light whipped cream and it is neither runny nor thick. The consistency is absolutely perfect as it helps in blending the foundation easily on the hydrated skin. It is extremely lightweight on the skin and feels completely natural. When you will layer the product, use a damp sponge as it gives a perfectly flawless finish. The foundation settles into a semi-dewy look. The oily skin beauties can set it off further with a matte oil control compact or foundation. The glow which I presumed to be slightly illumination is not there at all. It does settle into a dewy look and that's it.

The foundation has a sheer-light coverage which works great for a flawless skin. It has the ability to cover minor redness and faded acne marks but for major blemishes you would need concealer to do the job. The foundation blends well and doesn't look cakey or forms a whitish layer if you blend it properly. Dry skin needs to be moisturized prior to the application otherwise the foundation would accentuate the flakes easily.
There are four shades available – Coral, Marble, Pearl, and Shell. For NC42, the shade Marble looks pretty good as it has a sheer yellow undertone that compliments my skin. Although the shade selection is pretty limited, for a light foundation I believe it would cover most of the Indian skin tones. The foundation is transferable and is not waterproof at all. It easily gets transferred to tissues when I pat my face very gently. It gets easily washed off with water if you happen to splash water on your face. Therefore, it isn't a good option in summers as I have oily skin, but it is a great option for winter.
The foundation doesn't irritate the skin or cause breakouts which is a good thing, but I would have preferred if they added the ingredients list on the product or at least on the website. It has SPF 8 which is good but not worth protecting from harsh sun and, therefore, you still need the sunscreen underneath the foundation. The staying power of the foundation is around 4 hours on a cool pleasant day and for a hot and humid day it hardly stays for 2 hours. The price is pretty reasonable for a budget friendly product and this can be a great option for beginners.

Pros Of Elle 18 Glow Foundation Marble:
  • Chic, effective and travel-friendly packaging.
  • Faint smell of the baby cream.
  • Available in four shades - Coral, Marble, Pearl, and Shell.
  • Right consistency of a light whipped cream.
  • Gives sheer to light coverage and hides minor redness and scars.
  • Feels lightweight on skin and blends well.
  • Settles down with a dewy finish.
  • Doesn't look cakey or whitish.
  • Doesn't cause irritation or breakouts.
  • Staying power is good in cold weather.
  • Budget friendly and a great option for beginners.

Cons Of Elle 18 Glow Foundation Marble:
  • Limited shade selection.
  • There isn't any glow factor.
  • Transfers and not waterproof.
  • Doesn't work for hot and humid weather as the staying power is low.
  • Ingredients list not mentioned.

Diva Likes Rating:

3/5

Final Note:

Although I very much liked this budget friendly beginner's product, the transferable and non-waterproof factor is a major con. You can, therefore, use it during winter with a proper moisturizer underneath for sheer to light coverage.
