Hello, pretty ladies! How are you enjoying the monsoons? This is my favorite time of the year when I generally get holidays before exams. Staying back at home and relishing rains with a cup of hot chocolate and ice-cream, can I wish for something better? No, I don't think so. Coming to today's review, I am here with the review of VLCC Natural Sciences Kajal which was a part of my Diva Likes haul. I got this Kajal on BOGO offer so that literally doubles up by happiness. Kajal is something I cannot live without and it has been a huge help to my sleep deprived eyes for brightening and making them look good. The brand claims really big about this kajal, so let's read the detailed review whether it matches the claims or not.

About VLCC Natural Sciences Kajal:

A Unique formulation that does not smudge, smear or fade after application. The goodness of natural oils and herbal extract nourish and relax the eyes. Tripala helps in maintaining good vision.

Price:

150 INR for 2.5 mg

Shelf Life:

2 years

Ingredients List:

Tripala, Liquorice extracts, camphor, Almond oil.

Directions For Use:

Apply gently on the inside edge of the eyelids.

My Experience With VLCC Natural Sciences Kajal:

The kajal comes in a cone shaped twisted packaging with a transparent plastic cap. The packing is extremely flimsy and fragile that I am really afraid to travel with it. Moreover, the plastic is too thin and would hardly survive minor falls. Overall, it has an insubstantial packaging for a kajal. Although we don't have to sharpen it but the cone structure is really bothering for application and in the long run it becomes too blunt for use. I would have preferred a pencil or twist up for a daily wear kohl like this.

The color is black, but it is definitely not the blackest of the black. The texture is smooth and glides over the waterline and doesn't tug or pull at all. It has a subtle matte finish which is really very good and looks elegant. Even though it has enough hydrating properties, the kajal doesn't look too creamy or oily. This can be an advantage when it comes to smudging. The pigmentation on the swatch was great but unfortunately for the waterline it requires multiple swipes to bring out a desired black color. The kajal is water resistance as splashes of water do not wash it off unless you rub your eyes. The kajal stayed on my eyes for around 3 hours and after that it started smudging. This was during summer so I believe during winter it might last a bit extra. The removal is very easy and comes off with almond oil or olive oil easily and also with any eye makeup remover.

The brand didn't reveal all the ingredients but only mentioned the key ingredients which include Tripala, Liquorice Extracts, Camphor and Almond Oil. However, despite the presence of camphor, there wasn't any cooling sensation on application to the eyes. Coming to the price, I think for its quality the price should have been less. I feel there are already too many pencil kajal's with better quality in the market when compared to VLCC Natural Sciences Kajal.

Pros Of VLCC Natural Sciences Kajal:
  • Decent black kohl.
  • Smooth gliding texture.
  • Matte finish.
  • Water resistant.
  • Staying power for around 3 hours.
  • Has Tripala, Liquorice Extracts, Camphor and Almond Oil.
  • Removal is easy.

Cons Of VLCC Natural Sciences Kajal:
  • Flimsy and fragile packing.
  • The cone structure isn't much helpful for application in the long run as it gets blunt.
  • Proper pigmentation requires multiple swipes over the waterline.
  • Price could have been lower as compared to the quality.
  • Neither totally waterproof nor smudge proof.

Diva Likes Rating:

2.5/5

Final Note:

It is true that this kajal has its own pros and cons but for the price I am paying for it is not worth the quality at all. There are several better quality kajal's available at a much lower price than this.
