Sometimes when we have dal/sambar rice we wish to have a crispy fry along with it. Okra fry is one such perfect recipe to have as a side dish.


Ingredients:

Okra/Ladies Finger - 500 grams(Finely chopped)
Onions - 1(Finely chopped)
Green Chillies - 4(Finely chopped)
Mustard Seeds - 1 tablespoon
Cumin Seeds - 1 tablespoon
Urad dal - 1 tablespoon
Chana dal - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric Powder - 1 tablespoon
Curry Leaves - 5
Salt - As per taste
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tablespoon/As per taste
Oil - 2 tablespoons

Preparation:

Take a pan to heat and add oil to it. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal and urad dal.
Once they pop add the onions, green chillies and curry leaves.


Add turmeric powder and salt and fry till the onions turn light brown in color.
Add the okra pieces.


Fry for 20 mins till the okra is cooked and turns crispy. 
Add the red chilli powder and cook for another 5 mins and remove from heat and serve hot.


Serving Options:

Serve it as a side dish with sambar rice/ dal rice.
