Fabindia reminds me of the beautiful printed Indian wear I adore every summer. I heard a lot about their cosmetics range as to how mild and effective they are. It was really a fortunate thing to receive a kajal from this brand in my latest Diva Likes haul as I had never tried anything from their range. The product is Fabindia Kajal With Almond Oil and we all know that it is impossible for an Indian girl to live without it. Kajal can dramatically enhance your look and I swear by it all the time. So, do you think that Fabindia Kajal is as good as their other products? Let's find out in the detailed review.

150 INR for 3 g

24 months

Ingredients List:

Octyldodecanol, Castor Oil, Carbon, Carnova Wax, Bees Wax, Almond Oil, Paraffin Wax, Petroleum Jelly, Cetyl Alcohol, Shea Butter, Microcrystalline Wax, Camphor, Triphala Extract (Amla, Harad, Bahera), Tocopheryl Acetate.

Directions For Use:

Apply gently on the inside edge of the eyelids.

My Experience With Fabindia Kajal With Almond Oil:

The kajal comes in a twist up cylindrical packaging with a transparent plastic cap. The body of the kajal is extremely fragile, but the twist up function works properly. Although the packaging is average, it is not something ideal to be traveling with. Moreover, the cone system is something which is criticized by most of us as the tip tends to get blunt with further usage.

The shade is jet black and the color is really impressive. The texture is creamy and glides very smoothly over the eyes. Although the texture is slightly thick, it doesn't appear cakey when applied. The kajal settles down with the creamy finish but not much oily. It is hydrating to the eyelids and waterline as I have really dry ones. There is a faint smell of camphor in the kajal which is excellent and it gives a minor cooling sensation that last for an hour or so on the eyes. The pigmentation is impressive for a regular kajal. With 2-3 swipes, I get the desired jet black color on my eyelids and water line. On my upper lids also it takes fewer stripes to give a soot black color.

One of the most important factors for a kajal is the staying power. The staying power of the kajal is around 3-4 hours depending how oily your eyelids are. Soon after that, it starts fading and smudging. The kajal is not at all smudge proof and when it starts smudging, it gives a raccoon look to the eyes. The waterproof factor is there as splashing of water doesn't affect the kajal much.

I didn't experience any kind of allergy, irritation or any burning sensation on the eyes during or post application of the kajal. The removal is quite easy as it comes off effortlessly with almond or olive oil. Coming to the price of the product, I feel it isn't worth the money because adding few bucks we can easily get a number of kohls with a better staying power.

Pros Of Fabindia Kajal With Almond Oil:
  • Jet black in color.
  • Creamy texture but not oily.
  • Glides very smoothly on the eyes.
  • Has the smell of camphor and soothes the eyes.
  • No irritation, allergy or burning sensation.
  • Provides good pigmentation with 2-3 swipes.
  • Stays for 2-3 hours without smudging.
  • Waterproof.
  • Can be easily removed with eye makeup remover.

Cons Of Fabindia Kajal With Almond Oil:
  • Cone packaging and very fragile.
  • Smudges and gives a raccoon look to the eyes.
  • Staying power is less.
  • Quality is not worth the price.

Diva Likes Rating:

3/5

Final Note:

Indian market has better options for kajal and there are a lot of brands who provide smudge proof ones. Unless you are getting this for a good discount, I would say skip it.

  1. I am still a big fan of Maybelline colossal kajal. Cone kajal become difficult to apply after some days' use.
