Loose powder is considered to be an essential and indispensable product in your makeup vanity. I am quite a fan of loose illuminating powder or translucent ones and would love to choose them instead of dozens of foundations or compacts. Moreover, these translucent powders are very forgiving. In case you invested quite an amount on a wrong shade of foundation, it hurts pretty much. Whereas in case of loose powders, there's a faint chance that you will go wrong with the shade. I had a pretty bad track record with Lakme as every time I end up picking a wrong shade. However, my first ever loose powder was the Lakme Rose Powder which I have been using forever. Let's find out about the product in detail.

My Experience With Lakme Rose Powder Warm Pink:

Let's start with the packaging. Lakme Rose Powder comes in a round plastic jar with a maroon screw cap with the brand name engraved on top in shining gold. There is a separator inside with mesh to control the flow of the product in addition to a sponge provided. Even though the packaging is of a typical loose powder, it isn't quite impressive for the eyes and comes out as a pretty mediocre one. Nonetheless, it is travel friendly and light weight.

This product has only two shades – soft pink and warm pink. The soft pink is for the fair skin tones while the other one is for wheatish to dusky ones. I have been using the warm version as I have an orange under tone and the color suits me close enough. The fewer choice of shades sometimes puts the product at a disadvantage. Coming to the product, it is a light peach-pink colored powder, super-fine milled which gives my skin a smooth and matte look. It does make some pretty difference to the pores but not in a major way. The powder, surprisingly, works best with stippling or kabuki brushes than sponges. The coverage is light to medium coverage on top of any light foundation or BB/CC cream and settles down as a matte finish. It works wonderfully on top of a concealer for hiding the dark circles as well. You would only require a tiny amount which goes a long way and works pretty good for all the skin tones. The days when my oily lids give me trouble, I simply apply a layer of the powder before my eye makeup. One of the best thing about the powder is that it slightly brightens up the face and absorbs oil for quite a long time. The product also doesn't accentuate dry or flaky skin or any wrinkles on the face.

It has sunscreen although there is no specific written over it. Therefore, I guess the power is not quite a strong one. As a setting powder, it works miraculously well keeping my skin fresh as a daisy for around 4+ hours. Speaking of the ingredients list, it is quite disappointing to have parabens but now-a-days almost all the products has it and thus complaining much doesn't help. Overall, it is quite a nice product for daily basis that comes with an inexpensive price tag.

Pros Of Lakme Rose Powder Warm Pink:
  • Nice travel-friendly packaging.
  • Super fine milled loose powder.
  • Gives a smooth, satin and matte finish.
  • Minimizes the pores to a certain extent.
  • Gives a light-medium coverage imparting a glow to the skin.
  • Doesn't accentuate dry skin or wrinkled skin.
  • Has SPF.
  • Keeps the skin oil free for 4+ hours.
  • Economical.

Cons Of Lakme Rose Powder Warm Pink:
  • The sponge is pretty useless.
  • Limited shades.
  • Contain parabens.

Diva Likes Rating:

4/5

Final Note:

For a daily use loose mattifying powder, this works pretty well. Except for the boring packaging, there's nothing I can complain about. The product works better than any compact in the similar price range and hence I would definitely recommend it.
