Moving home is one of the most stressful things that you will ever have to do. The day itself will be a whirlwind of things and in the confusion of moving, you have to find a way to keep things together. You need to take control of the day, or you could end up letting things overwhelm you. Make sure that you have all you need with you in your handbag. Having a survival kit will mean that you are ready for anything that the day has to throw at you. As any diva knows, taking control is all about good preparation. Here is your essential handbag checklist for your moving day.

Cell Phone:

Of course, you will need your cell phone on the big day. You will have lots of people to call from realtors to moving people. You should make sure that you charge your phone the night before the big move. The worst thing that can happen is that you need to make calls and your phone dies.

Travel Documents:

If you have to travel far to your new home, you need to make sure that you have all your travel documents in order. Invest some money in a file that can slip inside your handbag. You can get some stylish files online. That way you will have all your important documents together in one place. You don't want to be searching in your bag for various documents when you are busy. That is when this file will help by keeping everything safe.

Housing/Rental Contracts:

You need to have all your contracts ready before you move into your new home. Most realtors provide you with contracts the moment you pay. For example, if you use Leicester estate agents with Frank Innes, they will post or fax your home contracts to you. You must keep a copy of your contracts at all times, so that you can prove who you are.

Passport:

If you are travelling abroad to your new home, you will of course need a passport. Don't forget this vital document on the day itself or you could end up missing your flights. In all the commotion, you may forget the most obvious thing you need. Make a note now, so that you don't forget it later.

Identification Letters:

Sometimes a passport isn't enough. When you go to meet the realtors, you will need to prove your identity. Take some old bills or bank statements with you to the offices. Even if the realtor does not ask for this identification, it is worth doing. If you lose your contracts or keys, you can still prove that you have bought or rented your new home.

House Keys:

You will get a copy of the house keys from the realtor. You should make sure that you carry these in your handbag at all times. The last thing you want is to lose your keys on the first day in your new home. Put the keys into a side pocket of your bag, so that you can be sure that you always know where they are.

Snacks:

Moving day will be stressful. If your blood sugar gets low during the day, you will end up feeling awful and freaking out at people. Carry some high-sugar snacks that will help to take the edge off, in case you feel hungry. You may not have time to stop and eat on moving day. So, having snacks with you will be a lifesaver.

Medicines:

It is worth carrying aspirin with you every day. Make sure that you have some painkillers in your handbag, so that you can take them when you get a headache. As I said before, the day will be stressful. You may get headaches often in the day. You won't have time to go to a pharmacy, so make sure you have some aspirin in your bag.
