My Experience With Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation Coral 1"
Packaging: It comes in a sleek, easy to carry around pencil form stick. The stick is color coded which is almost the color of the lip crayon, so it's easy to find in your vanity. It has a retractable twist-up mechanism and a double-sided lip product. At one side (the upper part) you get the lip crayon, on the other side (bottom part) you get the sponge or the smudger to create the gradient effect. Both the sides have been tightly secured with the caps. If your hands are slippery or you try to open it after applying lotion/cream to your hands, then you will have a hard time opening the cap. The smudger cap is where the shade name is written. Also, it's not a usual twist up pencil, in the sense that we all are accustomed to twisting up the pencil be it kajal or other lipsticks from the upper part of the product but this has to be twisted up from the bottom where the smudger is given.
Shade: As I mentioned I have shade Coral 1 from this range. Its neon-ish coral with pink undertones. I love the shade. It's a summery, bright, subtle color. One can wear it to office as well. But I can see it's not flattering for all the skin tones. It works well for fair to medium skin tones because this color will wash out the darker skin girls. Also, I would have preferred had they given better names for the shades instead of 1, 2 etc.
Texture: The texture is melting soft. It is so creamy and buttery that I have never come across such a lipstick which has this amazing texture. It glides on its own it seems. It glides like butter without tugging or pulling. Keeping that in mind, we have to be careful in applying it because it is so soft that it might break.
Formula: It is a creamy matte lip crayon. It has no hint of shimmer or glossy finish. Due to its mattifying effect, it emphasizes the dryness of my lips. I have extremely dry lips and I am addicted to my lip balms. This lip crayon brings to the fore my dry patchy lips. It is not at all hydrating, so exfoliating the lips is a must. You might need to apply a lip balm underneath to help ease the dryness. In my case, even exfoliation doesn't help and I end up having fine lines and patchy lips. In fact, re-applying is also out of the question because it will intensify the flakiness.
Pigmentation: The color is highly saturated. It is pigmented enough to cover the blemishes on lips in one swipe. The color pay off is good and you can darken the color by applying 2-3 coats. But as its drying, you need to expedite the application; otherwise, it will look patchy if you continue to layer it.
Staying Power: The staying power is quite decent. It stayed on me for about 3-4 hours while having food and drinks. But it starts to smudge and fade from the center of the lips after meals. It causes dryness after fading and creases the lips which I don't like because, for re-application I have to wipe it off completely from lips, exfoliate and then re-apply which is a task in itself. All of this, I cannot do while I am out of the house.

Diva Likes Rating:
It's an ok product for me. I might not buy other shades from this range because of its drying factor. More so, the colors from this range are not so unique. You will easily get the similar colors in lipstick form which costs less and are not much drying. But if you are someone who buys literally every launch that comes in the market, then take your pick from the 8 shades launched. It might work for well-hydrated lips. So try and see what suits you. The range has an exact Kylie Jenner lip color as well which is Mauve 1 I suppose (for all the Kylie Jenner fans).
