Salicylic Body Wash
For the face, we always for look the ingredient 'Salicylic Acid' in every face wash. Do look out for this particular ingredient for the body wash as well. This has been suggested by various dermatologists across the world and works like a dream. Essentially, salicylic acid helps unclog pores to resolve and prevent wounds. It actually can penetrate into the pores to dissolve dead skin cell build up. It also controls the sebum which is the main cause of acne. It is known that 0.5% - 2% concentrations of salicylic acid are effective at clearing mild to moderate acne effectively without over drying the skin. Acne is caused due to certain bacteria which thrives in the oxygen-rich environment. However, Benzoyl Peroxide actually removes the oxygen-rich environment and helps prevent clogged pores. As a result, the acne is cured. This chemical should be used depending on the severity of acne, the sensitivity of the skin and must be used in concentrations of 2.5, 5, and 10%. In fact, there are various creams and spot treatment gels available across the counter having Benzoyl Peroxide for treating acne.
Sea Salt is highly effective in controlling the oiliness of the skin and thus prevents the formation of sebum, causing acne. You can also use Epsom salt as well. It cleanses the skin thoroughly, kills the bacteria and promotes a healthy pH level of the skin. It's pure, natural and richer in minerals than any other ingredient. Use sea salt for light exfoliation or add to your warm bath water. Soak the skin in it and simply pat dry. Slowly you will notice that the acne is getting cured with regular sea salt bath. You can also use sea salt mixed water filled in a spray bottle and spray on the back.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is acidic in nature and would help you get rid of back acne. It ideally balances the pH of your body which naturally eliminates the acne breakouts. It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory in nature and cleans away dead skin cells and clears the pores effectively. It also prevents acne scars and improves the skin tone over time. Mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part water. Use a cotton ball to apply it to the acne prone areas. You can also use the mixture in a spray bottle and spray on the back.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is derived from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia of Australia. It is rich in anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties. Terpinen-4-ol compound in tea tree oil issues its antimicrobial properties which help in controlling the bacteria causing back acne. It also contributes to execute the microbes that cause skin inflammation. It improves the texture of the skin and clears out the acne as well as the scars. There are various tea tree oil products like body wash and lotions available for this purpose. You can also apply tea tree oil unless you are allergic to it.
This is one of the most effective home remedies for back acne. To make this mask, grind cinnamon to powder form and add honey to make a gooey paste. With the help of fingers, spread the mixture all over the back and let it remain for about 30-40 minutes. Wash off with cold water and pat the skin dry. Both the ingredients have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities, so it is safe to use this mix. Cinnamon unclogs the pores, dries out acne, and brings blood and oxygen to the surface of the skin aiding in blood circulation. Honey contains natural hydrogen peroxide which prevents bacteria. It can also draw out impurities from blocked pores and prevent acne.
Regular breakouts on the back will make the skin sensitive and prone to more breakouts and allergies. Therefore, make sure to apply a thick coating of sunscreen because often the negligence to apply sunscreen causes back acne. Invest in a sunscreen which has broad-spectrum protection and has an SPF of minimum 35-40.
Acne is ideally caused due to bacteria. Sweat gives rise to bacteria in the body which often comes from previously worn clothes. Make sure you are wearing fresh clothes every day and not something sweaty and dirty. Avoid uncomfortable or irritating fabrics or tight fittings during summer and monsoon. Also, use fresh towels and prevent using others clothes or towel.
