My Experience With Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Cherry:
The product comes in a slender long twist up chubby stick with a pink cap. The packaging is color coded and the shade name is written on the body itself. The twist up function works perfectly fine and smoothly rolls out the stick. Although I love the previous packaging, this time, the packaging was not only efficient but also super chic and adorable. It is very easy to carry and you can slip it in anywhere you like.
Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow series has five shades namely - Raspberry, Mixed Berry, Orange, Cherry, and Peach. I have received the shade Cherry. It is a tinted lip balm and has a slight wash of pinkish hue when applied on the lips. The color is not meant to be pigmented but simply adds a sheer glossy layer of pink tint to the lips. It is not effective to hide the pigmentation and won't show up very well if your lips are pigmented. It looks quite natural on the lips as if you have au naturel pink pout. The color resembles a lot like the Berry Crush of the color version of Baby Lips.
The texture of the lip balm is glossy and glides like a velvet on the dry and chapped lips. It provides a very thin and light glossy look and hydrate the lips efficiently. The competency of this lip balm is slightly lower than the original color version in terms of hydration. It does moisturize the lips but for extremely dry lips it takes a long time to hydrate. This lip balm is well suited to protect the lips from dryness rather than healing the dry flakes.
It has a yummy candy smell and flavor but sadly the smell doesn't last too long on the lips. The lip balm has the goodness of vitamin E and saves the lips from getting flaky. You can also apply this underneath any lipstick and it works just fine. However, it lacks SPF.
The staying power of the lip balm is slightly less than the regular Baby Lips. The glossiness fades off within 2 hours of application but it still keeps the lips hydrated for another 2 hours. With snacks or light drinks, you would need touch ups. The price, I feel is slightly higher compared to the effectiveness as a balm if you take away the amazing and cute packaging it has got.
Pros Of Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Cherry:
- Adorable packaging and very effective for traveling.
- The shade cherry adds a pinkish tint to the lips.
- It has a feather-light texture and glossiness.
- It has a candy smell.
- Hydrates the lips and can be used underneath a lipstick.
- It has the goodness of vitamin E.
- Staying power is around 3-4 hours and requires touch-ups.
Cons Of Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Cherry:
- It lacks SPF.
- The hydrating factor is not as effective as the original color version of Baby Lips.
- Slightly pricey as a lip balm.
Diva Likes Rating:
The Candy Wow series is no doubt extremely adorable but it will only be a perfect lip balm for summers. You can give this a try but the original Baby Lips are way effective than these.
