We all want to have long, lustrous and healthy hair. Some of us are born with it and some try whatever they can to achieve it. I had extremely curly hair as a kid. It changed gradually as I grew up and now I have frizzy, rough and coarse hair though I love it because it's long. Taking care of our mane is very important to keep it healthy and strong. Using hair packs once in a while provide required nourishment and deeply conditions the hair. No matter how much expensive shampoos and conditioners we use, they do not help in treating the problematic areas. In fact, they might add to the damage because of the presence of so many chemicals. Oiling twice a week is very important but most of us fail to do it because of our busy schedules. In this regard, hair packs help in repairing damaged hair. We can use store bought hair packs or even make one at home from kitchen ingredients. Whatever nutrients organic products provide, they cannot be obtained from readymade packs. So today I will show you how to make an easy hair pack particularly targeted to moisturize dry and rough hair.

Ingredients Used & Their Benefits:

  • Yogurt: Yogurt contains lactic acid and proteins which nourish the hair and scalp. It is used in treating dandruff also. It softens the hair and smoothes it. It's also beneficial in accelerating hair growth.

  • Honey: If you think honey is good just for skin, you are mistaken. Honey is equally great for our hair too. Honey, being natural humectants moisturizes and nourishes the hair. It provides required hydration to dull and dry tresses.

  • Aloe vera: Aloe vera is a wonder plant which gives wonderful results when used in hair treatments. Being anti-inflammatory, it reduces scalp irritation and prevents itching. It is beneficial in treating dandruff also.

  • Coconut Oil: Who doesn't know about the benefits of good old coconut oil. I vouch by its benefits and it's my favorite oil when it comes to hot oil treatment. It treats almost all the hair problems and equally good for the skin too. Hair fall, dryness, split ends and dandruff - you name it and coconut oil solves it.

Procedure:

Take about 2-3 tablespoons of yogurt in a clean bowl. The quantity depends on the length and thickness of your hair. For my hair, I needed almost 150 grams of yogurt. Peel off the upper layer of aloe vera leaf and scoop out the gel using a clean knife. Add this to the yogurt. Mix about 3 tablespoons of honey to this.

Lastly add 4 tablespoons of coconut oil. I usually prefer oiling my hair and then using this pack as in this way your whole length of hair gets the deep conditioning.

Mix everything properly. Make sure you nicely mix the aloe vera. Apply this mixture in the way you apply hair color. Then start massaging your head to nicely spread the mixture. Let it sit for almost an hour. You can also wear a shower cap to make sure it seals in the goodness. After 1 hour, shampoo and condition as usual.

I have been using this pack once a week since a month and it has reduced my hair frizziness making it soft and smooth along with making it more manageable. I can say that even my dandruff problem has reduced. The wonderful ingredients present in this pack are way better than expensive visits to spas and costly hair treatment products. So do try this pack and I guarantee you that it's going to give you great results.
