Majority of women love to have long hairs as it suits Indian costumes. But then the maintenance becomes a major issue. Owning a long hair is a great mess that too in a polluted city. Your hair can turn up frizzy and itchy in all seasons. Itchy scalp is due to dryness which causes scaly formations and dandruff.
We try to use hair products claiming to be dandruff free and rush to parlors. We spend huge amount and time on products where the result is not guaranteed. There are even chances of side effects like allergies or other reverse effects from the market products. In order to avoid these problems, we can prepare a simple homemade hair mask in a short time right at home. This hair mask works well in the long run and has no side effects. This hair mask is prepared using fenugreek seeds and buttermilk. Buttermilk and fenugreek seeds provide wonderful medication to hair and scalp. It cools down the scalp reducing dandruffs and softens hair. It is the ideal hair mask for reducing dandruff and improving hair growth.

Benefits of Buttermilk & Fenugreek Hair Mask:

The hair mask is the best remedy for dandruff and itchy scalp. Buttermilk has acidic contents which reduces dandruff and cools down the scalp. Buttermilk moisturizes your hair, making them silky soft and easy to remove tangles.
Fenugreek repairs damaged hair softening the ends. It improves hair growth and volume with regular use.

Ingredients Required:
  • One cup buttermilk
  • Two spoons fenugreek seeds
  • One spoon coconut oil (optional)

Procedure:

Soak fenugreek seeds in a bowl of buttermilk for 2 hours.

Grind it to paste when the seeds are softened. The mixture is quite sticky and becomes difficult to remove from the blending jar. Grinding fenugreek seeds is quite difficult. The seeds get stuck between the blades. They do not form a smooth paste; you will find pieces of fenugreek seed remains. To avoid this, you can use fenugreek powder which simplifies the blending job. Soak the powder in buttermilk for some time until it softens and forms a smooth mixture.

The hair mask is ready. If you have too dry and tangled hair, add a spoon of coconut oil to the hair mask.

Directions For Use:

The hair mask is quite sticky and thick. It is because of soaked fenugreek seeds. They even produce small bubbles like the sour yogurt. You can apply it either by your fingers or by a small hair brush. Apply mainly to hair scalp and also to the entire hair length. Leave it for half an hour.
Rinse away with warm water by rubbing your fingers beneath the hair. Do not use shampoos or any cleansers. Applying shampoo immediately has very less effect as it removes all the traces of hair mask. You can shampoo at the evenings or the next morning.
Rinsing is a bit tough job and time consuming. You will find thick fenugreek remains between the hair strands. The buttermilk and fenugreek odour retains in the hair. The odour vanishes after shampooing. You might not like odour of the hair mask as it does not have any artificial added scent.

For the best results apply this hair mask twice in a week.
