Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer. I totally believe in it. I have got the opportunity to visit some of the beautiful places both in and outside India. No matter where I go, my heart belongs to the place where I have spent 25 years of my life – Hyderabad. Hyderabad is the capital city of Telangana state in South India. Hyderabad is also called as "The city of pearls" because at one time it was the center of pearls and diamonds trade. It has an interesting history of Mughals and Nizams which makes it rich in culture and heritage. Hyderabad is well-known for its Mughal cuisine and whosoever comes to Hyderabad should not miss the famous Hyderabadi Biryani. Not only the food but also all the Indian festivals are celebrated with great pomp and show with no disparity.
Tourism is quite happening in this city owing to the so many attractions it offers. It has many palaces worth visiting which include historical monuments, museums, lakes, gardens, wildlife, film city, religious places etc. Though it is tough to choose, here are the top 10 places to visit in Hyderabad. These places come under the not to be missed attractions in this city. Let's have a look!


1) Charminar:

This is the most renowned structure not only in Hyderabad but also in India. It is a mosque and monument which is considered as the landmark of Hyderabad. It has four towers attached by four striking archways. This place is always crowded and full of life any time of the day and even night. There are a lot of shopping places around this monument like Laad Bazaar which is quite famous for the bangles.


2) Mecca Masjid:

It is the oldest mosque in the city which can accommodate as many as 10,000 people. It is situated near to Charminar in the old city of Hyderabad. The architecture of this Masjid is incredible and not to be missed.


3) Golconda Fort:

Golconda Fort is an ancient fort which is almost 800 years old. The architectural wonders of this fort make it the most glorious fortress to visit. The main prodigy about this place is the hand clap which you do at the entrance can be heard at the highest point of dome about a kilometer away.


4) Qutub Shahi Tombs:

Qutub Shahi Tombs are located near to the Golconda Fort at Ibrahim Bagh in Hyderabad. The tombs are an idiosyncratic style of domed constructions with beautiful chandeliers and carpets which are pleasing to the eye.


5) Chowmahalla Palace:

This palace was the place where the Nizams resided 200 years ago. All the guests of the Nizams were entertained right in this palace. The elegance and classiness of this place will make you fall in love with it.


6) Nehru Zoological Park:

For all the animal lovers, Nehru Zoological Park is a must visit zoo in Hyderabad. It has varieties of animals and birds which can get you close to the native wildlife.


7) Hussain Sagar:

The Hussain Sagar Lake which is fed by Musi River is a prominent tourist spot. The huge Gautama Buddha statue erected in the middle of the lake adds to its glory. There are regular boat rides from the Lumbini Park near Tank Bund to the Buddha statue. The place around the statue is full of greenery making it an enjoyable experience for the visitors. The place is lit up with lights and light music in the night making it mighty.


8) Necklace Road:

If you ask me one place in Hyderabad where I would love to hang out with friends, it has to be Necklace Road. If Mumbai has Marine Drive, Hyderabad has Necklace Road which is adjacent to Hussain Sagar Lake. Restaurants, garden, lake view, roof top eateries and boat rides to the Buddha statue make this the most popular hangout place for everyone.


9) Ramoji Film City:

Spread across 2000 acres of land, Ramoji Film City is not only a filmmaker's ecstasy but also a dreamland for each one of us. The amusement park and amazing sceneries make it look awesomely striking. If you want to treat yourself, just spend the weekend there and you will surely end up going again!


10) Birla Mandir:

It is a Hindu temple, built on hilly area dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. The temple is built with marble making it look spectacular. The view of Hussain Sagar Lake from the temple is worth a watch. The weekends are quite crowded with devotees and visitors from all over the city and outside too.
