- Vanilla Custard powder - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 500 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams or as required
- Mixed Fruits - 1 cup(Banana, apple, pineapple, papaya, musk melon, chikoo, pomegranate, pear, kiwi, grapes(seedless) and strawberry can be added. Do not add watermelon as it oozes water)
Take 3 tablespoons of milk and add the custard powder to it. Mix them well to make it a smooth mixture with out any lumps.
Now take the remaining milk in the saucepan and heat it to a medium heat.
Stir the milk and after it boils add the custard powder mixture to it. Remember to stir the milk continuously when adding the mixture. Otherwise custard powder will create lumps in the milk and the smoothness of your custard will be lost.
After the milk gets to a thick consistency, add sugar and stir them well. Stir the custard continuously until it start to boil. Then turn off the heat and pour the custard to your serving bowl. Keep it aside to cool down to room temperature and then put it to refrigerator to chill it.
Add the fruits in your custard just before serving.
Do not add them ahead because that will make the custard light and the crunch of fruits will be lost.
Fruit custard is now ready to be served. Garnish with a cheery on top.
Custard can also be served with caramelized fruits.
Instead of fruits, nuts and veggies like carrot or beetroot can also be used.
Top the Fruit Custard with caramel or chocolate sauce.
