Poornima from Easy & Homely Cookbook is our seventh guest contributor in "Be My Guest With A Guest Post". She has started her blog as she thought that it is a good way to record traditional recipes which she got from her mom, friends, relatives and blogs. She is excited about her first guest post and is here to share her recipe Easy muruku using dosa batter with us.
Since IPL matches are going on, her husband wanted her to prepare Muruku items so that he can happily watch the match biting the crispy muruku. So, she finally decided to prepare this Muruku. This recipe can be done in minimum time and has a wonderful taste. It is very thin and is crispy. So kids will love this muruku a lot.

Ingredients:

Gram Flour/Besan Flour - 1 cup
Maida - One-fourth cup
Rice Flour - One-fourth cup
Corn Flour - 2 tablespoons
Dosa Batter - 1 cup(Use fresh dosa batter or untouched dosa batter that is stored in refrigerator for best results)
Salt - As per taste
Turmeric Powder - One-fourth tablespoon
Red Chilli powder - 1 tablespoons(You can increase the red chilli powder if you prefer much spicy taste)
Asafoetida - 2 pinch
Dalda - 3 tablespoons
Oil - As Required
The measurements given here serves 2 persons only (It can fill a Pediasure container size). Accordingly you can increase the measurements to get more quantity.

Preparation:

In a vessel, add all the ingredients one by one and mix well. Add water slowly and mix till becomes a thick dough as shown below. While preparing dough, if it becomes sticky, add rice flour additionally to make it thick.

Fill the dough in the Muruku Maker. The disc to be used to make this muruku is shown below:

Heat the necessary oil in a deep bottomed vessel in medium flame and directly press the muruku maker over the oil.
Wait till the Muruku becomes golden brown and then place it in a paper towel to remove the excess oil. Since muruku is thin, it will be ready in few minutes.
Crispy and yummy muruku is now ready. Store it in a air tight container.

Serving Options:

Serve it as tea time snack item.
