My Experience With L.A.Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Traditional:

Packaging: The palette comes in a black case with a transparent lid. The lid is made of light quality plastic and since Lavanya sent this all the way from abroad, the lid was cracked slightly due to the pressure already. Hence, I didn't find the packaging sturdy at all and I don't think I will ever travel with it. Coming to the applicator, it was a double ended sponge tip. The applicator is also very flimsy and has no use whatsoever. It is also slightly bent due to slight pressure and I didn't like it at all. Overall, the packaging is not impressive.
Shades: There are 12 shades of warm neutral colors. The colors are good but it lacks matte colors. Most of the shades has either pearly or frosty finish which is certainly bothering. I will go over shades in details below.
• Pearly white color.
• Pearly light brown color.
• Very light beige-taupe color.
• Cool toned light brown color.
• Pearly pale golden color.
• Pearl light brown color.
• Frosty reddish brown.
• Bronze color.
• Pale frosty peach color.
• Light brown-taupe color.
• Light pinkish frosty rose color.
• Frosty deep brown color.

Pigmentation: The deeper shades are well pigmented but the lighter shades are chalky and I wouldn't be much impressed with such pigmentation. Also, you always have to use a primer or a base like the MAC Painterly Pot to bring out the best of the color. Hence, the pigmentation of the overall palette is average. The moment you try to build up the color on the lids, it gives terrible fallout problem.
Texture: Except for a couple of shades, the texture is creamy powdery one. When I was swatching the shades on the hand, it was of soft and silky texture. Hence there were no coarse ingredients at all. However, it also has a downside to it. Since the colors are not pigmented, the eyeshadow sheers out completely. It blends and merges well but then also the color vanishes out while blending. With certain shades, you will fallout as well.

Formula and Finish: The formula is smudge proof once you see the color showing up on the lids. However, the colors are not completely waterproof. It comes off easily when you rub with water on top. Even splashing water will cause some fading of the eyeshadow. The finish is either pearly or shimmer. The palette lacks a good black color for basics and also lacks matte transition colors. When shimmery or frosty colors are used for transition, it doesn't bring out the best of the eye makeup at all. Overall, the formula and finish is also average.
Staying Power: The staying power of the eyeshadow is 3-3.5 hours alone. It starts to face off afterwards and on oily lids, it creases badly. With a primer underneath the staying power is elongated but only by an hour or so. Overall, I am not impressed with the longevity of the eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadow palette is good for beginners who wants to learn blending and applying colors. Otherwise, it is not much impressive.

Pros Of L.A.Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Traditional:
  • Nice choice of neutral colors.
  • Creamy powdery texture.
  • Blends well.
  • Average to good pigmentation.
  • Smudge proof colors.
  • Great for beginners.
  • Cost effective.

Cons Of L.A.Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Traditional:
  • Fragile packaging.
  • No matte shades.
  • Pigmentation is not impressive.
  • The colors have the tendency to sheer out.
  • Not for experts or professionals.

Final Note:

The palette is good enough for beginners. For others, I wouldn't recommend it.
