Have you seen the Korean beauties? They have jaw-dropping gorgeous skin (without any base makeup) and honestly speaking, I would kill to get such a great skin. Off lately, the 10-Step Korean Skin Care Routine is doing the rounds a lot and let me tell you this it is a better version of the regular CTM routine known to us. Thus, it may sound a bit extreme (10 long steps!) but it all boils down to cleansing, exfoliating, treating, intensely moisturizing and applying plenty of SPF throughout the day. So, scroll down to know the secret behind the glowy, cleansed and healthy skin of the Korean girls in just 10 simple steps.

Step 1: Oil Cleanser

We love applying long wearing makeup but these are definitely not easy to remove. Use an oil based cleanser or simply olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil and massage the skin to remove the makeup. Wipe it off with a damp cotton or cloth. You will see that almost everything has been wiped off without stretching the skin. These oils are the best way to take off every layer of foundation, kajal or mascara, pollution particles. It can be done for both oily and dry skin.

Step 2: Foam Cleanser

This is the second step of cleansing which drives away all the residual layer of makeup and cleanses the skin by thoroughly removing dirt, grime and the oil cleanser used in the previous step. Foaming cleansers remove water-based debris such as sweat and dirt. If you have extremely dry skin, you can use a face wash other than foam cleanser which will wash away the excess oil from the skin. For oily skin, foam cleanser is a must after the oil cleanser step.

Step 3: Exfoliator

The exfoliator is not meant to be used daily but surely 2-3 times a week is a must. It is a great way to scrub away all the dead cells or any residual particles that renew and revitalize the skin giving more of a polished and clean look. It also makes the skin look soft, supple and bright. It is also known to unclog the pores, revealing a healthy glowing complexion.

Step 4: Toner

With so many cleansing steps, the skin surely feels exhausted and can become dry if a toner is not used. In fact, it is most helpful for people with oily or acne-prone skin who require some extra cleansing as well. It is great to maintain the pH balance of the skin and shrinks the pores, making it look blurry and gives a glow to the skin. In fact, a toner acts as a way to prep up the skin, so it'll absorb the following treatments better.

Step 5: Essence

Essence is the core of Korean skincare, which actually came from the Korean skincare regime. In fact, it is very similar to the boosters, or ampoules but the consistency is more watery than other products, more like a toning water. These products comprise of an active ingredient that optimizes your skin's natural cell turnover rate and regenerate the skin cells giving you the brighter look you desire. It also increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin.

Step 6: Serum

Serum is a better and thicker version of the essence with a lightweight texture that gets absorbed into the skin like a dream. It is a vitamin-enriched potion with slicker consistency. These kind of products are best for anti-aging purposes, dark spots or pigmentation on the surface of the skin, loss of collagen and elasticity or simply a treatment for the dull and uneven skin tones. It is best applied at night when the skin will absorb its benefits in optimum.

Step 7: Sheet Mask

Sheet mask is also a brainchild of Korean skin care and often used as a substitution for Toner and Essence. These sheets masks are filled with vitamins, amino acids, and minerals and give a soothing and hydrating sensation to the skin. It also pampers your skin and de-stresses the skin at the end of the day, is convenient and easy to apply and also gives a more intense treatment to the skin.

Step 8: Eye Cream

Eye areas are extremely sensitive and devoid of any oil glands and hence, the area remains dry. In fact, these are specially formulated for thinner, more sensitive area around your eyes. It needs to be moisturized and hydrated to prevent the fine lines, crow's feet and wrinkles to be appearing. Regular usage of eye creams also helps in decreasing the puffiness and dark circle around the eyes.

Step 9: Face Cream

Experts have stated this time and again that no matter what type of skin you have – oily, dry or combination – a moisturizer or face cream is a must have in the skin care regime and the Korean skincare also agrees with this. It simply locks the hydration and gives a smooth effect to the skin with a glowing and dewy effect. It must just be the right one to suit your skin type (oily, dry or combination). Massage it thoroughly on the skin to increase the blood circulation. Also, right moisturizer will control the oily skin.

Step 10: SPF

This is the last but most important step when you are stepping out of the house. You can't simply avoid this step and it is advisable to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen to have the best protection. Sunscreen is the answer to all the skin problems like dark spots, pigmentation, dull skin, etc. and also a key for a healthy skin while you age gracefully. The skin will feel smooth, healthy and you will notice a less change in the complexion with regular usage of sunscreen. Apply it every 2-3 hours while you are out in the sun.
