Isn't it a dream of every woman that they don't have body hair, especially facial hair? Imagine the life in which we do not have to rush to the parlor every 10-15 days to get our upper lip and other facial hair removed. Wouldn't it make our world a better place to live in? I know I know I am over exaggerating it a bit but seriously who doesn't want a silky smooth skin without facial hair to worry about. The growth of hair on facial areas like upper lips, forehead, neck, and chin are pretty normal and everyone has it. However, in some women, it goes pretty unnoticeable but with some, facial hair growth is comparatively high. This hair growth not only causes embarrassment and but is also the main reason of low self-confidence. There are so many methods to get rid of the unwanted hair like waxing, threading, epilating and bleaching. But most of them involve a lot of pain or lots of chemicals and not to forget the huge hole they dig into our pockets every time we visit the parlor. Thankfully there are also many natural ways by which we can get rid of facial hair naturally at home and that too without any side effects. Most of the ingredients will be from our home kitchen and are easy to implement. These methods have been tried and tested by many women who have now noticed a significant reduction in their facial hair growth.

Before starting with the methods I would suggest you to prep your face as it will make the results clearer and better. Some of the things you can do to prep your face are:

1) Cleanse your face with a mild cleanser to remove all the dust and impurities from face and then pat it dry.
2) If possible gently scrub because scrubbing exfoliates the skin, removes dead skin and makes hair removal process easier.
3) Steam your face as it will open the pores and loosen hair follicles.
4) Although all the ingredients used are natural, still check that you are not allergic to them. Switch to another method if your skin is allergic to a particular ingredient.
5) Once the process is complete, moisturize your face with a gentle face moisturizer.

Let's see some of the natural ways by which you can get rid of facial hair at the comfort of your home.

1. Coffee & Baking Soda Mix

Take 2 teaspoons of coffee grounds with 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a small bowl. Add rose water or plain water to make a semi thick paste. Apply this paste on the areas where you want to get rid of hair for 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Baking soda will activate coffee and thus weakens the hair follicles. Repeat the steps twice a week to achieve desired results.
Precaution: Do not use this mix if you have cuts and nicks on the face as it may irritate them and cause pain.

2. Turmeric Paste

This is the wonder ingredient in our kitchen. Turmeric has skin lightening properties so it will act as a natural bleach for facial hair. Also, regular use of turmeric paste will reduce overall hair growth on the face.
Mix 2 teaspoons of raw turmeric or haldi with cold milk and make a paste. Apply and keep it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. You can use this method as many times you want in a week as turmeric is good for skin and has no side effects.
Precaution: Use good quality turmeric and also wash really well after application because turmeric tends to leave stains.

3. Sugar-Lemon-Honey Mix

Lemon is a natural bleach for your facial hair, the sugar naturally exfoliates and honey is a natural moisturizer. What more do you want? Regular usage of this mixture improves overall skin quality and reduces hair growth on your face.
Mix 1 teaspoon of sugar, lemon and honey in a small bowl and add water to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste on areas with hair growth and use circular motion just as you scrub. Keep massaging for about 10 minutes and then leave it on for 10 more minutes and wash it with cold water.
Precaution: People with sensitive skin may skip this method as lemon may irritate the skin further.

4. Wheat Flour Paste

You may have heard your granny or mom doing special massage for newborn babies. Wheat flour mixed in water is applied to newborn babies and then scrubbed off so that they do not develop body hair in future. On similar terms, you can also use this method twice or thrice a week to achieve desired results. Just be sure to scrub it off vigorously so that it takes away facial hair with it.
Precaution: Do not harm your face too much while scrubbing off the paste as it can cause skin irritation and rashes.

5. Papaya Pulp

Papaya is used in many face masks and packs as it provides the glow to the skin. It also helps with anti-aging and firms the skin. Papaya contains an enzyme called "papain" which is responsible for the reduction of hair growth by breaking down hair follicles from which it grows. So simply make a paste out of papaya pulp and smear it on areas with unwanted hair and massage for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with cold water and repeat the process twice a week to get desired effects.
Precaution: Application of papaya on the skin can cause allergic reactions.

6. Foods That Suppress Testosterone Levels & Boost Estrogen Levels

Hormone imbalance is the main cause of excessive hair growth in women. It may be due to some particular medicines, irregular menstrual cycles or various other reasons. Taking foods that suppress testosterone hormone levels and boost estrogen hormone levels will reduce body hair in women. Some foods that you should consume more are cauliflower, broccoli, and green tea. Regular exercising and walking will also keep hormone levels controlled.

One thing that we must keep in mind is that natural methods are slow in working, so please do not expect an overnight transformation. You have to follow the regimen strictly for about a month or so to notice the changes but once you follow the results would amaze you.
