Winter means dry skin and when it is not properly treated, it will turn your skin totally dull. One thing I never change in my skin care routine is an oil free face wash which suits my skin well for all round the year. A foaming oil-free face wash surely keeps my acne problems at bay and also the greasy oily feeling during summer. However, the scenario is slightly different in winter as it makes my skin dry at night. Therefore, I make sure to apply a soothing layer of cold cream before hitting the bed to wake up with soft and supple skin. While choosing products, I came across this cute tub of cold cream from Garnier and decided to give it a try. Read on to know how the cream turned out for me.

My Experience With Garnier Skin Naturals Nourishing Cold Cream:

The cream comes in two sizes and I chose to test the 18g pack. It comes in a small round greenish plastic tub with a white screw lid. It is further encased in a thin cardboard box. The tub is extremely light and easy to carry. However, the packaging isn't my favorite as I prefer tubes over tub any given day due to the hygiene issue. Therefore, it is best to use a spatula to scoop the product. The cream is a light whipped creamy formula that feels like soft butter on the fingers. It is off-white with very faint beige touch in color. It has a faint creamy smell of cold creams and is extremely light. The aroma hardly lingers after application.

When I applied the cream, it blended into the skin in no time and also requires a very little amount. Upon blending, it looks slightly greasy on the skin but then it settles down with a moisturizing feel. I have oily skin, and so I avoid the cream all day and only apply it at night for a nice hydrating touch throughout the night. When I wake up, my skin feels relatively soft and hydrated without any dry patches even around the forehead or mouth. For dry to very dry skin, this would be a great moisturizer as it not only hydrates but also replenishes the skin to a large extent. It claims to moisturize and protect the skin which is very much true. Dry skin can also use this beneath foundation or heavy makeup to have a smooth base for application. It has the goodness of acacia honey which locks the moisture and hydrates the skin.

The drawback is the presence of various parabens which is very disappointing. Moreover, it lacks SPF and therefore either you will need a good sunscreen or you can only use it at night. Other than that, I really found this is nice cold cream for winters that would suit the normal to dry skin a lot.

Pros Of Garnier Skin Naturals Nourishing Cold Cream:
  • Lightweight packaging.
  • Smooth creamy texture.
  • Mild fragrance.
  • Gets absorbed easily.
  • A good moisturizer for normal to dry skin.
  • Hydrates and replenishes the skin overnight.
  • Doesn't break out.
  • Has the goodness of honey.
  • Cost effective.

Cons Of Garnier Skin Naturals Nourishing Cold Cream:
  • Unhygienic tub packaging.
  • Makes the oily skin greasy unless it is completely dry.
  • It has parabens.
  • Lacks SPF.

Diva Likes Rating:

3.5/5

Final Note:

I find this cold cream better than other ones in the market within this price range. For my oily skin, it feels slightly greasy sometimes but I only prefer using this at night. For dry to very dry skin, this is the perfect pick for winters if you are looking for a good moisturizer which will hydrate the skin for a long time.
