I am so happy because I received my first haul from Diva Likes two days ago. I was super excited to see a box full of skin and hair care products. The courier man just looked like Santa who comes at Christmas time with a box full of goodies. I have received everything from face wash to scrub to shampoo to sunscreen. The reviews will soon be pouring over here. Today I am going to review my first product from Diva Likes haul. I would like to thank Lavanya and Diva Likes for giving me the opportunity to try varieties of products from all the leading brands in India. The product I am going to review today is VLCC Sweat Free Sun Block Lotion SPF 40 PA+++. I was so happy to find a sun block in the pile of goodies. I admit having neglected using sun block during my school days. My tomboyish nature never gave me an idea that skipping sunscreen can damage my skin so much. I had Korean like complexion but my negligence made me tan a lot over the years. I miss my old complexion. But it is never too late. I have started using sunscreens and do not compromise on my skin anymore. Take a look at the review to know more about this sun block.

My Experience With VLCC Sweat Free Sun Block Lotion SPF 40 PA+++:

I have combination to oily skin which becomes super sweaty and oily in summers. My T-zone looks like it took bath in a bucket full of oil. I was happy to see that this product claims of being sweat free. This is the only factor we look out for in a sunscreen apart from SPF. The sunscreen comes in a white and yellow matte sleek tube with a screw cap on top. The packaging is same for all the sunscreen range of VLCC. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly. The lotion does not look like a lotion to me. It has a thick consistency like a cream. I feel it looks more like a cream than a lotion. The cream is off white in color with a mild fragrance.

I applied it during day time. Only a little amount is needed for one time use. The lotion is very tough to blend. It does not get absorbed easily. Once applied, it left my skin greasy and oily. This was the first disappointment I experienced from this product. I thought of setting it with a compact but my skin became oily in less than half an hour. So I don't know why the company is emphasizing so much on its sweat free claims. Second disappointment came to me the next morning. The next morning I woke up with three breakouts on my cheek and chin area. I was badly disappointed with this lotion. Now I am left with three zits in just a day of use. If I continue using it, I will be facing more break outs I guess. According to me, it is not made for oily to combination skin people. I also noticed a change in my complexion after applying it. It looked a shade darker as if I have applied a tinted moisturizer. As for SPF factor, SPF 40 is a good amount for sunscreen. If you have dry skin, may be you can try it. But that again is a risk as this product turned out to be a disaster for me.

Pros Of VLCC Sweat Free Sun Block Lotion SPF 40 PA+++:
  • Good amount of SPF for a sunscreen.
  • Affordable and travel friendly packaging.

Cons Of VLCC Sweat Free Sun Block Lotion SPF 40 PA+++:
  • Its sweat free claims are false. It made my skin feel greasy and oily.
  • Very tough to blend as the consistency is very thick.
  • Made my skin look a shade darker.
  • Gave me pimples. I guess it is not suitable for combination to oily skin.

Diva Likes Rating:

1.5/5

Final Note:

This sunscreen did not suit me at all. It is very greasy and does not live up to its claims of being sweat free. It gave me pimples overnight. It also made my skin look a shade darker. So I guess it is not meant for combination to oily skin beauties and definitely a big no for summers. Dry skin girls can give it a shot if you have the guts to take the risk of zits. I am going to discontinue using it and personally don't recommend it to anyone.
