I love evening snacks along with a cup of hot tea/coffee. What about you? If yes, then this recipe is for you. I am presenting one of my favourite evening snack Onion Fritters.This can also be served as a starter for lunch/dinner.


Ingredients:

Onions - 4(Chopped vertically into long slices)
Gram Flour/Besan - 100 grams
Salt - Half tablespoon
Cumin Powder - Half tablespoon
Coriander Powder - Half tablespoon
Turmeric powder/Haldi - Half tablespoon
Chilli powder - Half tablespoon
Ginger-garlic paste - One-fourth tablespoon
Tomato puree - Half tablespoon
Water - Half cup
Oil - 400 ml

Preparation:

Pour two table spoons of oil in a pan and fry onions for 5 mins.
Take a bowl and add gram flour, salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and water.
Mix all the above ingredients well till they form into a paste.
Then add fried onions along with tomato puree and combine.
The mixture required for preparation of onion fritters is now available. Set aside for half-an-hour.
Post that take a pan and pour oil into it. Place tablespoons of batter individually and fry till they turn light brown in colour.
Drain excess oil and serve hot.

Serving Options:

Serve with tomato sauce or tamarind chutney.

  5. Oh yes, vegetable fritters and tempura were like the best thing to have with tea during the winters. Even when I can't think of an appetizer to make for guests, I go back to the dependable pakoras/fritters :D
