When I started experiencing makeup, eye shadows intrigued me a lot. All I used to do is, use that boring sponge tip eye shadow applicator for everything. As a result, the makeup used to be patchy and unclean. Then I learnt about the uses of variety of eye brushes. But the problem was the price tag. It's not much of a convincing factor for a college girl to spend lavishly on so many eye brushes. But I didn't give up. On searching, I saw that Colorbar provides some good eye brushes with affordable price tag. I completely trust Colorbar as a brand and therefore without wasting much time, I bought them. Here's my review on these brushes and along with that I have also provided a little tutorial on how to use them. Read on to know more about it.

Directions For Use:

Eyelluring Eyeshadow Brush: Blend eyeshadow onto lids with soft, firm strokes. Keep blending and diffusing color for the look you want. Gently clean the brush by washing with mild shampoo and cold water, rinse and leave to air-dry.
Angled Angel Eye Defining Brush: Blend with short, swift strokes. For eyeliner: Place brush along lower and/or upper lash line then draw a line. For brow-filling: Use light, feathery strokes and follow the natural arch to fill in. Gently clean the brush by washing with mild shampoo and cold water, rinse and leave to air-dry.
Smokin' Eyes Smudger Brush: Smudge shadow/liner by using small, controlled strokes while pressing the tip against the lash line. Gently clean the brush by washing with mild shampoo and cold water, rinse and leave to air-dry.

My Experience With Colorbar Ready To Wink Perfect Eye Makeup Kit:

Every brush has a white handle, black ferrule and orange bristles. The brushes are quite sturdy but the bristles are very gentle. It is travel-friendly and looks very classy and nice as well.
Eyelluring Eyeshadow Brush: It is a dome shaped eye brush with gentle and soft bristles. The bristles are tightly packed but this won't poke your skin at all. This eye brush is very effective for applying eye shadows on the lids, creases and also helpful in blending them. The shape of the brush is perfect and is slightly shorter than the blending brushes. Simply pat the eye shadow on the lids and start blending towards the crease. Overall, it can be used for multi-purpose makeup.

Tutorial: I have used a black eye shadow and dabbed with the help of the brush. By dusting off some eye shadow, I have blended the color towards the crease and merged with the brow bone.

Smokin' Eyes Smudger Brush: This is my favourite brush among the three. As the name suggest, you must have guessed that it plays a major role in smokey eye look. A smokey eye, as you have seen, is not just dark eye makeup but the smooth sultry blending of the dark color towards the crease. The brush is wonderfully soft and blends the eye shadow both on upper and lower lids. The brush is of a blunt pencil shape, which is very much close to MAC 219 brush. If not the upper lids, you can simply smudge the kohl on lower lids. Overall, this is a great brush and is worth the price.

Tutorial: I applied some kohl on my lower eye lids. Then, dusting off some grey eye shadow I have smudged on the lower lash creating a soft sultry look.

Angled Angel Eye Defining Brush: The brush has a slanted flat top with soft bristles. This is again a multipurpose brush which can be used for filling the brows and lining the eyes. I mainly use this brush for lining my eyes with the gel liners. The brush gives a precise application of the lines. Though the brush just works fine, I wanted it to be slightly fat. Nevertheless, it is a good basic brush.

Tutorial: I have applied a dark bluish purple eye shadow and lined the upper lids that merged with the black eyeshadow.

It's been twice I have already washed this brushes but there was absolutely no hair shedding at all and this has totally impressed me.

Pros Of Colorbar Ready To Wink Perfect Eye Makeup Kit:
  • Sturdy classy packing.
  • Soft and gentle bristles.
  • The bristles don't poke eyes at all.
  • Perfect for regular use.
  • Inexpensive.
  • The bristles don't shed after washing.

Cons Of Colorbar Ready To Wink Perfect Eye Makeup Kit:
  • The eye defining brush could have been slightly fat.
  • The set lacks a blending brush.

Diva Likes Rating:

Overall Rating - 4/5
Eyeshadow Brush - 4.5/5
Eye Defining Brush - 3/5
Smudger Brush - 5/5

Final Note:

On the whole, this set is worth having. The quality of the brushes is good enough for regular use and shading. The pro brushes costs a lot but as I have not yet mastered the art of applying eye shadow completely, I am quite okay with these as of now. If you are looking for good quality soft eye brushes, then this is it.
