This is easy to prepare and hardly takes 15 minutes to prepare. It’s a variation of ‘Bhel’ but tastes real good. The main ingredients of ‘Girmit’ are puffed rice (churmuri), lemon, water, onion, tomato, chilly powder and salt. Looking at the ingredients one feels what special about it ? You are right. Its not the ingredients but the way its made gives it a unique taste. Let's check out.

Onions – 1 (medium,chopped)
Tomatoes – 1 (big,chopped)
Red chilly powder – 1 teaspoon(adjust per your taste)
Turmeric powder – One-fourth teaspoon
Roasted Bengal gram – One-fourth cup

Combine roasted Bengal gram and fried groundnuts into blender and grind it to the coarse powder.
Place a pan on medium flame and add oil into it.
When oil heats up, add cumin seeds and fry for 10 seconds.
Add chopped onion and fry till onion becomes soft and transparent.
Then add chopped tomato and cook till the tomato pieces are soft.
Now add red chilly powder and turmeric powder. Mix well and cook for 1 minute. Turn off the flame.
Add puffed rice, blended coarse powder, lemon juice, salt and sugar to the onion – tomato mixture. Sprinkle little water and mix everything well.
