Everyone was praising this product when it was launched some time back and one of the reasons I bought it is because I have never tried any mousse foundations. These are known to be the most effective foundation texture for oily skin like mine and with the temperature rising each and every day, I would say that this is a much-needed product my skin requires right now. I generally avoid heavy foundations because it clogs the pores and my skin has the tendency to breakout at the slightest provocation. Also, in summer, the skin tends to look dull and tanned and I needed something to brighten up a bit. So let's see how the Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation worked on my skin.

It's time to embrace flawless skin – the weightless way! A soft texture that easily blends into the skin, Lakmé 9to5 Weightless Mousse Foundation is available in 4 different shades. They suit most Indian skin tones and feel great on your skin all day, every day!

My Experience With Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation 02 Beige Vanilla:

Packaging: The product falls under the 9 to 5 range and I love their packaging like anything. It comes in a rose gold plushy tube with a shining rose gold screw cap. The packaging is very lightweight and has a little nozzle to take out the product. It never dispenses the excess amount at all. You can carry it wherever you want and it never creates any mess at all.

Shade: I have several complaints about the shade card. Firstly the shade is limited to four colors with two warm and cool tones. It will surely not cater to the needs of most of the complexions and dusky to deeper tones will not get a match. Coming to the one I picked, Beige Vanilla is a yellow-toned color which will suit NC 30-40 range. Thankfully, my yellow undertone helps to merge the shade well into my skin tone and never looks ashy or unnecessarily white. It also brightens up the complexion and looks great during the daytime.
Coverage: The coverage is sheer to buildable. It will not cover any scar, acne marks, deep pigmentation or anything but will merely even out the skin tone. It works somewhat like a better version of a BB cream that I have used so far. For the acne marks and other discolorations, I generally have to use a concealer and then this foundation on top. However, the yellow undertone gives a natural brightness to the skin.
Texture: The texture is like any other mousse foundation. It is extremely light and easy to blend into the skin without much effort at all. It doesn't look cakey or patchy even when you layer it again for slight coverage. I generally use my fingers to blend in and surprisingly it never feels uneven or patchy at all, unlike other foundations. Hence, you can even use it when you are in a hurry. It doesn't feel heavy or clog the pores and thus, there's no way that it will break out. The foundation is best suited for combination to oily skin in summers.

Finish: The finish is flat matte with a slight glow which is wonderful for the day time look. Although it gives a matte finish, it never accentuates on fine lines or dry patches on the skin. Once you have concealed the blemishes prior application, this will give a flawless look and is best for daytime application. I set everything with a loose translucent powder.
Staying Power: The staying power of the foundation is around 4 hours after which it starts to fade off. To keep the skin fresh and intact I use compact powder to set everything and keep the foundation for a longer duration. Performance wise, the price seems reasonable.

4/5

Final Note:

For a daily wear foundation which simply evens out the skin tone and provides a brightness to the skin, this light weight mousse texture is wonderful. Although it lacks proper shade and coverage, price wise it is quite a good daily wear light foundation for oily skin, especially this summer.
