These days the word 'strobing' is literally everywhere. I am not much of an advocate for blushes and contours, but I have to admit that I couldn't help buying at least one highlighter to try out this amazing trend. I have always used highlighter only for my brow bone to give them a lift and was curious to know what effect it does to my cheekbones, cupid's bow and bridge of the nose. To be honest, every highlighter costs a bomb and considering the fact that I will only be using this once in a blue moon, I thought of trying out a budget-friendly product as a starter. I previously owned the Revlon one, but at that time I was a mere beginner and couldn't well utilize the product before its expiry. Sivanna Colors is a Korean Brand which is quite good for the price, as I have heard from my friends who religiously use their products. The products might not be retailed in India, but there are various e-commerce sites which deliver them across India with promising offers and discounts. Let us see the product in detail.

My Experience With Sivanna Colors Baking Highlight Pearl 03:

The highlighter comes in a round base packaging with a transparent lid that shuts with a click. The packaging has certain drawbacks – it comes without any brush or inbuilt mirror for the purpose of traveling. It is light weight to carry, but I wish it was more convenient. The shade I picked up for myself is Pearl 03 which is a silvery champagne highlighter. I prefer it with a bit of bronze touch as I have yellow undertones, but this one isn't too stark if I blend it smoothly. The color works great as an illuminator for the bridge of the nose where I use mostly (I have a flat and broad nose) and also for the eyes. The shade is a great pick for fair to wheatish skin tones, but won't suit deeper complexions.

The pigmentation is extremely good as an illuminator or highlighter. This might work as a disadvantage also if you're not very careful. I would advise using a very light hand while brushing over the cheekbone and slowly build the glow you want. The product isn't very forging. So if you apply extra by any chance, you will have a hard time blending it and end up looking like a shiny clown. The texture of the product is average. The powder is soft and not powdery or chalky, but it is not finely milled as well. The shimmer particles in the formula are small and densely packed which gives it the high smooth shine.

One notable thing is that if you do not apply the product in excess, I never saw the illuminator spreading all over. The staying power is good. On my oily skin, it stayed around 6-7 hours even in the pathetic humid weather. Removal is also easy and doesn't create any mess at all.

Pros Of Sivanna Colors Baking Highlight Pearl 03:
  • A silvery champagne shade which works well with fair to medium Indian complexions.
  • The pigmentation is extremely good as an illuminator.
  • Smooth and blendable texture.
  • Requires a very little amount.
  • Multipurpose use – on cheekbones, eyes, and lips.
  • No fallouts if used carefully.
  • Nice staying power.

Cons Of Sivanna Colors Baking Highlight Pearl 03:
  • Packaging isn't convenient.
  • The powder isn't milled finely.
  • It is not forgiving if you go overboard with it.

Diva Likes Rating:

4/5

Final Note:

If you are looking for a budget friendly highlighter with a decent quality, you can give this a try as an alternative to high-end brands. This is a good product for beginners who want to master the art of contouring.

    2. They have a nice range. A lot of cheaper dupes to your expensive brands. However, they aren't as cheap in India.
