As much as we love applying makeup, the most important thing to do when you return back home after a tedious day is to remove the makeup from your skin. I am not much of a heavy makeup person, in fact, I hate applying BB cream as well. I even avoid cleansing milk as it tends to make my skin oily, however, makeup removers are a good option here. I was delighted to have the oil-free makeup remover from Coloressence in my Diva Likes haul and today I am going to give you the details of this product. So let's get to the review.

My Experience With Coloressence Dual Phase Oil Free Makeup Remover:

The product comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a spray nozzle which is further enclosed with a small cap. The bottle is small, extremely light weight and I love travelling with it. There have been several times when I carried it with me for a short trip or day outs and I faced absolutely no problem at all. So the packaging is a total thumbs-up.

The product inside the bottle has the consistency of water and it is light pink in color. There is actually two layers of liquids present as I have seen through the bottle and with time the pinkish layer settles down with the layer of water on top. It somewhat looks like a mixture of water and oil. I believe that the name 'dual phrase' came from here. Unless you shake the bottle vigorously the remover won't work properly. Once you spray it on a tissue or cotton ball, you would notice a faint pinkish touch of the liquid. Thankfully, there is no smell of the product at all.

Coming to its ability to remove makeup, I would say it performs as an average makeup remover. It cannot remove the complete layer of long-lasting makeup or even eye makeup. But it is good for removing the layers of lip color. Sometimes it stings my eyes slightly and makes it super watery when the liquid enters the eyes. So I generally avoid removing eye products with it. For light coverage makeup remover, it performs well as it removes the makeup completely but for heavy and long lasting ones, it is not effective enough. It also didn't break me out and is safe for acne-prone skin like mine.

The only thing that bothers me a lot is that it makes my skin super greasy and I feel the urgent need to use a foaming face wash after using this one. You can also see in the swatches that it made the skin greasy and there was also a faint layer of makeup residue on my hand. The whole purpose of the oil-free formula is defeated when my skin becomes extra oily due to this. People with dry skin can definitely use this product and I might give this a try during harsh winter. Overall, this is an average remover for dry skin people.

Pros Of Coloressence Dual Phase Oil Free Makeup Remover:
  • Nice sturdy bottle and very efficient packaging.
  • Watery consistency and feels light on the skin.
  • Non-sticky.
  • Great for light makeup and lip color removal.
  • Reasonable price.
  • Will suit the dry skin.
  • Didn't break me out.

Cons Of Coloressence Dual Phase Oil Free Makeup Remover:
  • Makes the eyes watery.
  • Not suitable for oil-free skin and the name oil-free is totally misleading.
  • Not very effective in removing makeup.
  • Need to swipe a lot.

Diva Likes Rating:

2.5/5

Final Note:

I think there are better options in the market for makeup removers and a cleansing milk is a lot better than this one. You can give this a miss.
