The summer and the rainy season take quite a toll on my hair. I mostly suffer from a lot of hair fall issues along with frizzy dry hair. The hair and scalp behave quite opposite to each other as the scalp remains oily while the hair looks dry and dull. This situation confuses me a lot when it comes to choosing a hair care product. Coming to today's review, Biotique shampoo was included in the haul which Diva Likes sent me and I have been using for quite some time now. Surprisingly, I have heard a lot about the brand but never had the opportunity to try one of their products. Therefore, it was overall a pretty experience for me. So let's see how the shampoo worked for my hair.

My Experience With Biotique Bio Green Apple Fresh Daily Purifying Shampoo & Conditioner:

To start off with the basics, I have shoulder length medium wavy hair with oily scalp and dry ends. Excessive heat or chemicals often cause frizz and make it dull. Biotique Bio Green Apple Fresh Daily Purifying Shampoo & Conditioner comes in a semi translucent plastic cylindrical bottle with a screw cap. The mouth of the bottle has a small hole to control the flow of the product. The bottle is extremely lightweight yet durable and easy to carry around. There's hardly any spillage or leakage issues with the packaging and hence it is impressive.

The shampoo is of green color with semi-thick consistency. The liquid smells heavenly of green apple, but sadly the smell wears off after rinsing leaving the hair with an aroma of freshness. Honestly, I would have preferred the green apple smell to linger for some time. The product specifically mentions to be pertinent for oily scalp and hence to try its merits I purposely oiled my hair with a thick layer of coconut and castor oil from root to tips. To my surprise, the first wash itself cleaned every layer of oil, dirt and grime from my hair which I believe is incredible. I washed it twice and it completely cleansed my hair from all the stubborn summer sweat and oil. Other shampoos require three washes to clean off whereas this one was exceptional. The scalp felt fresh and the irritation due to sweat was decreased as well.

The shampoo claims to have certain conditioning elements and hence I didn't use any conditioner post washing. On the very day I washed my hair, the strands felt slightly dry and I felt the need of a leave-in conditioner as my hair on the tips are quite dry. From the second day onwards, my hair felt soft, nourished and imparted slight shine. The scalp was oil free in this scorching summer for 3 days which was pretty good. If you have normal hydrated hair tips, I think the conditioner will not be necessary. This shampoo is strictly for oily scalp and therefore if you are having dry hair, this product may aggravate the situation.
Post washing you might have a problem of tangled hair but once it is semi-dry to dry state, the hair easily detangles with a wide-toothed comb. It didn't perform well for my hair fall issue, but there weren't any side-effects as well. The ingredients list is impressive as the product is organic and has certain botanical extracts. The price tag is quite reasonable in lieu of its performance. Overall, this product fared pretty well.

Pros Of Biotique Bio Green Apple Fresh Daily Purifying Shampoo & Conditioner:
  • Lightweight, travel-friendly and decent packaging.
  • Smells profusely of green apples and prominently appealing.
  • Cleanses oily and dirty scalp with first wash itself.
  • Gives a refreshing feeling.
  • Has organic ingredients.
  • Reasonable price tag.

Cons Of Biotique Bio Green Apple Fresh Daily Purifying Shampoo & Conditioner:
  • Doesn't provide any solution to hair problems like dandruff, hair fall, etc.
  • Makes the hair tips dry and hence requires a leave-in conditioner.
  • Won't suit dry hair.

Diva Likes Rating:

4.5/5

Final Note:

For summers, this is a great shampoo. Most of us go through the problem of oily and sweaty scalp with dirt and grime and this shampoo exactly brings a solution to that. It is highly recommended for oily scalp and hair.
