Well, what they say about summer is absolutely true! Tan will fade, but the memories will stay forever. It is almost time to welcome the sultry summer with a big hug. Now, what do you think is that one thing we cannot live without during the summer? Well, it is undoubtedly the sunscreen. In fact, sunscreen is no more a mere makeup or skin alluring thing. Dermatologists widely recommend each and everyone to use it the moment you step out in the sun. So when I started shopping for my summer haul, the first thing I bought was gel sunscreen from Lotus Herbals. I blindly trust this brand when it comes to safe sun treatment as no other sunscreen has ever been so generous to my skin than this. Once I made the mistake of switching to another brand, and it failed horribly that I came back to Lotus Herbals again. I used this particular gel tube variant for quite some time now. So let's see what made me stick to this brand.

About Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50:

A gel based sunscreen that's so light that it almost vanishes from your skin and leaves a never before matte feel. Especially for oily skin.

My Experience With Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50:

The sunscreen comes in a medium orange tube packaging with a clickable cap. The cap is sturdy and the tube is light-weight. It is very convenient to carry around with you without any hassle. Moreover, the tube packaging ensures a healthy and hygienic product for future use. Overall, I loved their packaging. The sunscreen is gel based – it is a translucent gel with a faint white color. However, after application there's no whitish cast leftover my skin and that is a big relief. It has a mild refreshing fragrance but it is not at all overpowering to the nose. In fact, the aroma is soothing.

After the gel is applied to the skin, it gives a faint cooling sensation and soothes the skin, which is great for summers. As the texture is gel based – the product gets absorbed into the skin in no time and blends like a dream. Within seconds, it sets into a matte finish without drying at all. I generally use this sunscreen as a moisturizer for daytime as well. The sunscreen has SPF 50 which is pretty good for Indian summers and protects the skin from both UVA & UVB rays. So, it efficiently protects skin from tanning and sunburn. I noticed less tanning with this product. The sunscreen requires to be applied every 3 hours when exposed to sun. I do not take this as a con as it is the same case with every other sunscreen.

Coming to the skin type, I have mild oily skin with very oily T-zone. This sunscreen would be perfect for normal to oily skinned beauties but dry skin people might need a moisturizer. This is not exactly a con as this sunscreen is meant for oily skin and so the moisture content is less. Moreover, I experienced no breakouts with this one. As far as the price tag is concerned, I would call it justified for the product.

Pros Of Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50:

  • Gets absorbed easily and sets into a matte finish.
  • Refreshing aroma and cooling sensation.

  • Acts as moisturizer cum sunscreen for oily skin.

Cons Of Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel SPF 50:

Diva Likes Rating:

5/5

Final Note:

There are just handful of gel-based sunscreen products in the market if you do not consider the high-end brands like L'occitane and Clinique. The positives for this product are way too overpowering than the negatives. Hence, I would not mind giving it full marks. The girls with oily skin can happily use this and I gladly recommend this sunscreen from Lotus Herbals to everyone.
