A very warm hello to all the awesome readers of Diva Likes. In my last post, I had mentioned about my recent Body Shop goodies which I got as a gift from my uncle. I have already reviewed Vanilla Body Lotion and today I am going to review The Body Shop Midnight Bakula Body Wash. There is always a tiff between shower gel users and soap users. Soaps are cheaply priced as compared to body washes. That is the reason why most people prefer soap over body wash. But body washes have immense advantages over soaps. Body washes are mildly formulated than soaps. Soaps are harsh for our skin. Body washes are less messy than soaps. Moreover, the feel and fragrance which is left by body washes is far better than soaps. I have always been a body wash lover. So when I received this body wash, I was overwhelmed. The main ingredient Bakula used in this body wash is an ancient exotic herb and has been in use in India since centuries due to its medicinal properties. Its bark is very useful for teeth and gum problems. It is also beneficial for skin ailments like leucoderma. But its use in a body wash is mainly because of its fragrance and aroma. So let's head to the review to know more about it.

About The Body Shop Midnight Bakula Body Wash:

A fragrant body wash to leave the skin feeling cleansed and subtly scented with the captivating Midnight Bakula fragrance. A soap free cleanser, with bakula flower extract.

Price:

595 INR for 250 ml

Ingredients List:

Mysterious Bakula flower extract and community trade honey from an organic source.

My Experience With The Body Shop Midnight Bakula Body Wash:

Most of The Body Shop products have incomplete information both on their website and products. The same happened with this body wash too as it has no complete ingredients list, no shelf life and directions for usage. The body wash comes in a long cylindrical transparent bottle with mysterious prints on it. The bottle being transparent, helps in keeping a look on how much product is left. It has a flip flop cap which is tight but safe to travel without any fear of spillage or leakage. The body wash has a thick consistency. It looks yellowish from outside but once poured it is a transparent thick gel with minute white beads. These beads burst while lathering and create rich foam. The body wash foams very nicely. Only a small amount is needed for the whole body. It washes away easily without any slippery feeling.

I am in love with its fragrance. I am very bad at identifying fragrances but all I can say is that it has a very exotic fragrance with both sweet and fresh notes. The fragrance lingers for a good time and then it fades away gradually. The body wash leaves my skin a bit dry and I feel the need of a body lotion post bathing. But it leaves the skin clean with a glow which I love. I think it is going to work great in summer and will not dry out the skin. I think I will buy this again once I finish it only because I love its smell.

Pros Of The Body Shop Midnight Bakula Body Wash:
  • Travel friendly packaging.
  • Creates a good lather.
  • Only a small amount is needed for usage and thus the product lasts for a long time.
  • Beautiful exotic fragrance which lingers for a long time.
  • Gives a subtle glow to the skin.
  • Easy to wash away without any slippery feeling.
  • Leaves the skin squeaky clean.

Cons Of The Body Shop Midnight Bakula Body Wash:
  • Incomplete information provided. Not even the ingredients list is complete.
  • Leaves skin a bit stretched and dry.

Diva Likes Rating:

3.5/5

Final Note:

We mainly use a body wash for its fragrance and on that point The Body Shop Midnight Bakula Body Wash scores full marks from me. It has a very exotic and royal fragrance that lingers for quite long. It leaves the skin clean with a subtle glow. If you can get your hands on this body wash, do try it and I am sure you are going to love its fragrance which will give you a royal feeling.
