Even with hundreds of nail lacquers stored in my stash, I keep wanting more and more. Every nail color is special and precious to me. Very recently I came across this brand Rimmel London in the South City mall. I bought eyeshadow sticks from there which turned out to be worth every buck I spent. Therefore, I was extremely happy to get an opportunity from Diva Likes to try out a nail lacquer from this brand. The color looks gorgeous as you can see it from the bottle itself. But is it that awesome as a quality nail lacquer? Let's find out.

My Experience With Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish Nail Polish Purple Pulse:

Packaging: The nail paint comes in a transparent round pot glass bottle with a black screw cap that has the applicator brush attached to it. The bottle is sturdy and travel-friendly.
Shade: The color is a beautiful dark purple with no shimmer at all. I am not sure about the dark skinned hands but this will be an awesome color for fair-skinned people. It brightens up your hands immediately and looks lovely.
Applicator Brush: Of all the nail polishes I used till date, it has the worst applicator brush. It streaks and gives uneven application and if you are not careful while applying, you have to redo the whole thing again.

Texture: The texture of the nail polish is glossy, though the streaky application and air bubbles trapped inside look very grainy on nails. I am not at all impressed with the texture it provides. You require a glossy finish top coat to get decent texture.
Pigmentation: It is also not up to the mark. It appears as a dark color from the bottle but requires three coats to achieve an opaque look. The single application looks utter untidy on my nails.
Staying Power: The staying power is decent and the varnish lasts up to 5 days on my nails without chipping. The staying power can be increased provided a base coat and top coat are applied along with it. Removing the nail varnish is easy.

Nars Purple rain, OPI Pamplona Purple, OPI Anti-Bleak, Barry M 'Bright Purple' and Zoya Purple creme and MAC Reel Sexy Nail Lacquer in the Dark are the dupes available for this shade.
Given the price I am paying for this nail color, I am not at all happy with it. This nail paint fails to deliver a promising product. In worst case scenario, you can make this nail polish work if you apply the coats carefully and let every coat get completely dry and then move on to the next one after enough time. That's how I plan to make it work on my nails.

Pros Of Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish Nail Polish Purple Pulse:
  • A gorgeous dark purple with no shimmers.
  • Travel friendly packaging and sturdy bottle.
  • Decent staying power of 5 days without chipping.

Cons Of Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish Nail Polish Purple Pulse:
  • Applicator brush provided is not up to the mark.
  • Gives a streaky and uneven finish with air bubbles trapped in.
  • Bad pigmentation. Requires at least 3 coats.
  • Texture is not impressive.
  • Costly for its bad quality.

Diva Likes Rating:

2/5

Final Note:

Sometimes even good brands fail to deliver quality products. In my opinion, you can give this a miss unless you are mad about this color. There are varieties of brands in the market which have good quality nail lacquers with an amazing low price tag. Skip this if you want to save your precious bucks.
