Hola pretty ladies! Sorry for missing in action since long. My camera lens died and I had to get it repaired. It was lying at the service center and hence the delay in my posts. Though I was not contributing regularly, I was following each and every post on Diva Likes. Today I am going to review a newly launched kajal by Elle 18. Actually it is not new, it has been in the market since long but recently they have improved the formula and launched it in a total new avatar and that is Elle 18 Blackout Water Resistant Kajal. The kajal from their previous range was not water resistant but this newly launched formula claims to be water resistant. Elle 18 is an iconic brand for young girls. They keep launching some amazing makeup at affordable prices keeping the youngsters in mind. This kajal is definitely one of them. Let's move ahead and know if it lives up to its claims or not.

About Elle 18 Blackout Water Resistant Kajal:

Kajal has always been the mainstay of every girl's makeup kit. Elle 18's new improved Kajal comes with a water resistant formula in a creamy and soft texture. The rich color gives a velvety touch and a glossy finish to the eyes.

Price:

85 INR for 2.2 g

Shelf Life:

24 months

Ingredients List:

Only grape seed oil mentioned.

My Experiences With Elle 18 Blackout Water Resistant Kajal:

Elle 18 Blackout Water Resistant Kajal comes in a cute chubby crayon like stick with a plastic transparent cap. It has a black body with pink detailing of the iconic character of Elle 18's cute pink girl. The packaging is very cute and funky. But the chubby stick will be tough during sharpening as you have to sharpen it with a big sharpener. The kajal has a typical homemade kajal like smell.

Coming to the texture and pigmentation of this kajal, it is very soft and smooth. It glides easily and the pigmentation is awesome. It is insanely pigmented with a single swipe and you are good to go. Moreover the kajal has a satiny glossy finish which looks very nice. The new formula claims that it is water resistant, but it is still not perfectly water resistant. I have watery eyes and it stays on my eyes for only 1-1.5 hours. After that it starts fading but the traces remain. It does not give raccoon eyes but fades softly.

It does not sting or irritate my eyes. It gives a cool feeling on application. Overall it is a nice kajal for everyday use and perfect for using as a base for smokey eye look as it is easily blendable.

Pros Of Elle 18 Blackout Water Resistant Kajal:
  • Pocket friendly.
  • Well pigmented and soft in texture.
  • Cute and attractive packaging.
  • Good for using as a base for smoky eye look.

Cons Of Elle 18 Blackout Water Resistant Kajal:
  • Not much water resistant like it claims to be.
  • Lasts only for 1-1.5 hours
  • Chubby stick would be tough to sharpen.

Diva Likes Rating:

3/5

Final Note:

I would like to sum up that this kajal is a pocket friendly product for everyday use. It is well pigmented and gives a nice glossy finish. But for those who want a long wearing kajal, this is not a nice option. If you still want to try it because of its affordable price tag, you can.
