- Green peas - 1 cup
- Oil - 2 teaspoons
- Butter - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
- Bay leaf - 1
- Cloves - 2
- Cardamom - 3 pods
- Tomatoes - 4
- Onions - 2
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - Half teaspoon
- Salt - As per taste
- Chilli powder - As per taste
- Curd - 2 teaspoons
- Cashews - 10
- Kasuri Methi - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - For garnishing
Grind tomatoes and onions to form a paste. Grind cashews along with curd. Pressure cook green peas for 2 whistles. Keep these aside.
Now heat oil in a pan. Add butter to it. Once the butter melts, add bayleaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and fry carefully without burning.
Add the onion and tomato puree. Cook covered till oil separates.
Add ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, chilli powder and mix well.
Add the cashew-curd paste and cook in a slow flame for a minute.
Add the boiled green peas along with half a cup of water and cook it by covering for 15 minutes. Add kasuri methi and cook for a minute.
Finally add coriander leaves. Switch off the flame and mix well before serving.
You can have green peas masala with pulkas. This gravy goes well with pulao also.
