Sanika from Delectable N Delicious is our tenth guest contributor in "Be My Guest With A Guest Post". She is a complete foodie who loves cooking and experimenting new recipes. All her recipes are tried, tasted and appreciated ones. Her Mother is a great cook and she is her insipiration. Whatever little knowledge she has about cooking is because of her mother. She is a great fan of Maharashtrian, Mexican, Italian recipes and tries to cook them as well. She is here to share with us a wonderful recipe Yam Tikki Chaat/Suran Tikki Chat.


Ingredients:

Boiled and mashed potatoes - 2-3
Yam - 2 Cups(peeled ,cut into pieces and steamed)
Crushed Ginger + Garlic + Green Chili - 1 tablespoon
Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
Coriander Powder - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric Powder - One-fourth tablespoon
Garam masala - One-fourth tablespoon
Cumin Seeds - 1 tablespoon
Salt - As per taste
Cornflour - 2-3 tablespoon
Chopped Fresh Coriander leaves - Few


Preparation:

In a bowl Combine mashed potatoes and mashed Yam (Suran).
Add Crushed Ginger + Garlic + Green Chili paste, Lemon juice, Coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, salt ,chopped coriander leaves and cornflour into it.
Mix well and take a lemon sized ball on your palm and make a patty.
Shallow fry these patties from both sides until golden brown in color.


Assembling Chaat:

Cracker Biscuits or any salted biscuit of your choice.
Ready Yam (Suran) Tikkis
Boondi Raita
Spicy Red Chutney
Mint Chutney
Date & Tamarind Chutney
Any crisps of your choice.

Boondi Raita: Soak boondi in cold water for about 15 minutes. In a bowl beat yogurt and add crushed ginger + green chili, salt, roasted cumin powder , sugar and mix well. Squeeze boondis gently and drain water from it. Add squeezed boondis into yogurt mixture and mix well. Sprinkle chaat masala and red chili powder.
Spicy Red Chutney: Soak 2 Red chilies in warm water. Grind chilies along with 10-12 garlic cloves, salt and lemon Juice.
Mint Chutney: Grind fistful of coriander leaves, fistful of mint leaves, green chilies, 1/2 tspn cumin seeds, salt , lemon juice and little sugar to make minty green chutney.
Date & Tamarind Chutney: 1 Cup of tamarind soak in warm water and extract juice out of it, soak 1/2 cup of dates in warm water and then grind to paste. Boil Tamarind extract and add grated jaggary, date paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, dry-ginger powder (Suntha/ Sonth) , salt and mix well.


Lay cracker biscuits in a serving plate and spread spicy red chutney on top of it.
Place ready tikki on it.


Spoon Boondi raita on top of tikki and add green minty chutney and date & Tamarind chutney over it.
Crush the crisp and put on top of it.


Serving Options:

Serve this delicious, chatpata, and different Cracker Yam Tikki Chaat with crushed crisp on it.
