South Indian Fish Curry is one of the best cooked dishes in the Southern part of India. It is cooked in tamarind gravy and is considered the best recipes of fish ever. Have a look and try it out. You are going to love it.

Ingredients:

Onions - 2(Finely chopped)
Green Chillies - 6(Finely chopped)
Tamarind - 50 grams
Fish Pieces - 7(Preferably milk fish)
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
Garam Masala powder - 1 tablespoon
Water - 3 cups
Salt - As per taste
Red Chilli Powder - 3 spoons/As per taste
Oil - 3 tablespoons

Preparation:

Soak the tamarind in 3 cups of hot water and keep it aside for 15 mins.

Take a pan to heat and add oil to it. Add onions and green chillies and fry till they turn light brown in colour.

Add salt, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala powder and turmeric powder and mix well.

Add the fish pieces and turn once so that both the sides get a touch of the spices but do it just once else the pieces may break. Cook for 5-10 mins.
Sqeeze the tamarind and pour only the tamarind water into the pan leaving the tamarind.

Cook for about 20 mins till the fish pieces get cooked and also the tamarind gravy thickens. Donot move the fish pieces but just move the pan slowly so that the gravy is mixed properly and the fish gets a taste of it.

Remove the pan from heat and serve the yummy fish curry.

Serving Options:

Serve it with hot steamed rice and enjoy its delicacy.
